In 2025, we’re building off of the successes of last year to provide our community with great events to connect, learn, and grow. We will continue to do the work that matters to support LGBTQIA+ people in South St. Paul and the broader community.
2025 Events
Having a Ball
We premiered a new event this January with our “Halfway to Pride” bowling event at Concord Lanes. We rented several lanes and invited members of the community to relax and have fun in a social setting. We also sold merch and T-shirts!
In February, we once again hosted our Valentine’s social. We again made cards to distribute. We invited the community to join us in making Valentines filled with positive affirmations for the students attending the high school and involved in the SAGA group. We invited participants to keep some love and share some love.
Caring for our Planet
In April, we tabled at South St. Paul’s Environmental Expo and represented our organization while also helping take care of the environment we depend on in our fair city.
In May, we returned to the section of Lorraine Park that we adopted last year and updated our gardening, planting new seeds and redoing some of the planter design.
A Month to be Proud Of
We started June with a bang as we reprised our annual Pride Festival! Members of the community enjoyed our live performances including a guest appearance by Transcendence Cabaret and the presence of over 30 vendors and food trucks! Despite a surprise rainstorm near the end of the day, this event was a massive success and we’re already excited for next year’s Pride!
Also in June, we marched in the Kaposia Days Parade! This year, we themed our float around Chappell Roan’s song Pink Pony Club complete with pink cowboy hats and stick horses. We also flew the transgender flag and decorated our float with matching balloons to show support for the trans community during this difficult time. We were well-received by the people of South St. Paul as we showered them with candy, stickers, and rainbow necklaces
